Here is a report from Maisie who is a year 10 student from Cardinal Allen Catholic High School, Maisie has done exceptionally well on the Lancashire Leadership Academy and is an inspiration to others........
A couple of months ago, Lancashire Sports Leadership Academy invited me to participate in the event they had organised call Boccia Training Days. I went there to develop my skills. At first, I was very nervous because I didn’t think I would be able to do it. The training days were very successful; they taught you how to play the game of Boccia. They also taught us how to officiate and referee.
Following this, we travelled to Preston and took our skills to the next level, organising the game and setting up the equipment for over one hundred pupils from Lancashire primary and special school.
I thought this was a great experience for me to take part in. It helped me realise that I should not be so nervous about having to speak out in front of people. It also helped me realise that you have to organised to be able to achieve success. I have made really good friends on the Boccia trips.
