High 5 Netball Competition

Year 5 and 6 Pupils from 15 Primary Schools within the Kirkham, Wesham and Rural Fylde PE Association took part in this event on Wednesday 10th March at Carr Hill High School. The schools were divided into 4 groups, large and small schools,  to play their matches, with the top 2 from each group progressing to the semi finals and then 4 made it through to the finals.

Congratulations go to Newton Bluecoat who were the large school winners and Weeton Primary who won the small school title.

We are very grateful for the continued support and sponsorship provided by Kirkham Lions Club, who provided medals for the winners and runners up. Mr Colin Fosbury and his wife kindly came down to watch and then deliver a presentation at the end of the afternoon.

A big well done and thank you to all the pupils for taking part, they were all exceptionally well behaved, enthusiastic and appeared to enjoy the whole afternoon. Thanks go as well to the staff that trained the pupils and brought them to the competition and any supporters they had with them that helped out with transport and stayed to cheer the children on.

A special mention needs to go as well to the Young volunteers from Carr Hill that helped out brilliantly with umpiring the matches, taking photographs and supporting the schools, I couldn't have managed without them.

The weather didn't let us down thank goodness, we just need to make sure the hooter is 'stored' early enough next year, before someone else takes it out of school, as the attempt to get all 4 courts playing at the same time, just didn’t work without it.
