Year 5 and 6 Pupils from Primary Schools within the Carr Hill and St Bedes clusters took part in this event on Wednesday 2nd December. This was the first time we had used this version of the Sportshall Athletics, so it was a new experience for everyone. We even managed to finish more or less on time!
Congratulations go to Newton Bluecoat who were the winners from the Carr Hill cluster and Our Lady Star of the Sea from the St Bedes cluster. Both schools will now go on to compete in the Partnership final on 24th January 2010 and we wish them both good luck.
A big thank you to all the pupils for taking part, they were all exceptionally well behaved, enthusiatic and appeared to enjoy the whole afternoon. Thanks go as well to the staff that trained the pupils and brought them to the competion and any supporters they had with them that helped out with transport and stayed to cheer the children on.
Young Leaders from Carr Hill and St Bedes helped out brilliantly with the running of the events and we couldn't have managed without them.
Roll on the next one, although I may add microphone to the list of equipment in the future, as I have got a bit of a sore throat now.
Please check out the photos from the event in the gallery section.
