Despite the torrential rain that had washed away most of Fylde coast, the resilience of the over Wyre schools saw the primary football tournament take place regardless. Preesall Sports Hall very kindly stepped in to provide facilities so that the teams weren't blown out to sea!
The three teams played a round robin competition with the highest scoring team automatically qualifying for the final, whilst the remaining teams fought it out for the final place. After a nail biting game pilling St John’s joined Carters Charity in the final whilst Fleetwood’s Charity placed third.
The final was an excellent match with lots of goal scoring opportunities, Carters took a 2 - 0 lead into the second half and kept the lead to win the game and the tournament. Well done to all players who played fantastic and were a credit to themselves and school.
Special thanks to the BTEC students from St Aidan's CE who helped organise and deliver the event.
