Primary PE Conference

The inaugural Primary PE Conference took place on Wednesday 7th October at Ribby Hall. The day was launched by Key note speaker Steve Smith Britain’s greatest ever high jumper.Despite being 5 inches shorter than the rest of his competitors, Steve took medals in the Olympic Games, the Commonwealth Games, the European Championships and the World Championships. Known as an athlete who always performed when it really mattered, Steve went on to lead British team in the 1998 European Championships .

Steve’s motivational presentation tells his inspiring story of how he overcame defeat at the Barcelona Olympic Games in 1992 and went on to achieve his bronze medal in Atlanta four years later. Passionate and engaging, Steve took PLT's into his world of competition, using video footage and visual aids to really bring his story to life.

The day included workshops, practical activities and an opportunity for networking.
