Gym Mania Gymnastics was formed in November 2004 by Head Coach Sarah Oxley. The first classes began in January 2005 on a Sunday with only 3 children per class. Since then Gym Mania's reputation and as result membership as grown dramatically and at present has 200 members.
Sarah started gymnastics herself at the age of 5 and has progressed since then by becoming a qualified Club Coach in both Pre-School Gymnastics and Movement and also Club Coach in General Gymnastics. She has also been a qualified gymnastics Judge and has attended, and continues to, many courses to enhance her knowledge and skills within the sport.
Sarah is also a qualified Primary School teacher with a PGCE (with QTS) with SEN specialism in 2006 and currently works at a local Blackpool primary school teaching in academic year 2009/10 in Reception class.
The aim of Gym Mania is to provide a high quality, FUN, inclusive, gymnastics coaching for children from 2 ½ years old.
Through qualified coaches in a FUN, safe, gymnastics environment, Gym Mania hopes to turn the children of Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde from couch potatoes to fitness addicts and reap the benefits both physically but also even in academic performance.
